Image was taken after midnight while standing on a railroad wye (hence the title) and under a full moon which was illuminating the snow. The town of Snohomish is in the background across the river, adding a wonderful backlit effect to the trees. This transparency was filed away for over ten years with no print ever being struck from it until very recently. Imagine my surprise when upon producing a large print that I saw for the first time Christmas ornaments and bizarre forms hanging in the trees to the left. I don't know what the forms are, but I'm sorry none of them resemble The Grinch.
